Customs office certifies reliability
Carl Zeiss 3D Automation GmbH, with its registered office in Aalen, has been a certified Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) since 9. February 2016, this status guarantees that suppliers of measuring equipment will have considerably easier and faster customs clearance.
"The AEO certification means that we and our trading partners will benefit from simplified customs procedures across all national borders within the EU in the future", says Dr. Frank Richter, CEO of Carl Zeiss 3D Automation GmbH.
The AEO status shall be granted to companies for which inspectors of the main customs office in Nuremberg have considered their customs-related activities to be reliable. The goal is to guarantee the international supply chain, from product manufacturers to end users. ZEISS 3D Automation is now the holder of an AEO certificate F, which entails the most comprehensive simplifications in comparison to the other two possible certificates. In the future, the company will be able to have certain customs simplifications approved throughout the EU, e.g. an abbreviated notification procedure or the registration of approved consignees and consignors, without further checks. Furthermore, entry and exit summary declarations with reduced data records may be used in the movement of goods.
The prerequisites for the AEO certification are past compliance with the customs regulations, an appropriate system for keeping the books and transport records, a verifiable ability to meet financial obligations and compliance with the appropriate safety standards.
